Here are 5 primary categories:

• Important / Valuable: We recommend a dedicated box or suitcase for items you may need to quickly access such as your important documents, jewelry, and money.

• For You: Pretend you’re packing for a vacation and be sure to have a plan for your bedding, toilet paper, towels, and so on so you can get settled with the essentials.
  
  
• Eat: It’s easy to forget about eating when you’re focused on closing and moving, so we recommend a small amount of disposable dishware and at least some snacks on hand. Our team are also big coffee and tea drinkers so packing a coffee machine, cups, and supplies for that first morning would also be high on our priority list.
  
  
• Kids: If you have kids, we recommend their own box or suitcase as well. This is a great time to include them in the packing and moving process. For example, they could pick out their favorite pajamas and toys to be unpacked first.
  
  
• Practical: Last but definitely not least, it is always helpful to have a dedicated place for miscellaneous things such as trash bags, scissors or boxcutter, chargers, and tape. Keeping a toolbox nearby can always be handy.
