Next Door Programs - Soldier Next Door

At the Murray Realty Group, we pride ourselves on meaningful, continuous education so that we may support our clients and community the best way possible. Recently, we’ve expanded our knowledge of a few home buying programs and what they can mean for the military community in Hampton Roads.

The Soldier Next Door is part of the largest national home buying program in the United States. This program offers up to $8,000 in grants and over $10,000 of down payment assistance. This allows the program to promise all active duty military, veterans, and their families the ability to purchase practically any home on the market. There are no up-front fees, no credit checks to apply through their website, and you never have to pay back the grant money! This is a small way to give back to those who give so much to our country.

We also are proud to note that we are now Military and Veteran Housing Certified (MVHC) through the Veteran Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP). This allows us to have intimate knowledge of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Home Loan Guarantee Program. The goal of this organization is, “to educate and empower attendees to embrace the VA loan program instead of shying away from it.”
